Capacity: 3
Prong settings—created when metal wires are soldered and shaped around a stone to hold it securely in place—have been used for centuries to create settings where the stone is mostly visible.
At the beginning of class, students will choose from a selection of small natural stones I’ve collected and design a silver ring with a prong setting that responds to the stone’s shape and size. The class focuses on soldering, forming, setting, and hand-polishing. It is best suited for students who have previously made rings, as well as those with prior jewelry-making experience who are ready to build on their skills.
When you register, you will receive an automated email regarding safety and logistics.
