Handwork house

The Handwork House is a private apartment for students, colleagues, and friends, steps away from the Vermont Handworks workshop. We converted roughly a third of our 130-year-old farmhouse so students and guest instructors can stay close.

The apartment has a private bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry, along with access to a shared front porch shaded by two 200-year-old maple trees and tall grass, overlooking a hayfield towards Mt. Abe and Mt. Ellen. We’ve been working together to create a sweet spot with natural light and warm vibes. We imagine it becoming a home to a growing collection of handmade goods created by students, colleagues, and friends that guests can touch, use, and experience during their stay.

During the off-season, the Handwork House will be available to other guests. If you’re interested in staying with us, let us know.
