This two-day workshop is an introduction to oval work and builds on the techniques covered in the beginner berry basket course. After constructing a Catalan base, students will weave an oval sling basket with inset handles and install a leather shoulder strap. Side weave options include zig-zag weave, Irish waling, slewing, and randing.
The class will begin with a discussion on growing, wild harvesting, and preparing willow for weaving, and resources for continued learning will be provided. Students will complete one basket in this 16-hour class.
