Watch silver turn molten in real time. In this class, participants place silver grain into a graphite mold and heat it until molten, an experience not typically found in traditional casting classes. Once the ring is cast, it is sized, textured, and finished simultaneously with a hammer, allowing the surface to develop as students work.
The ring carries subtle variations in surface and texture. Even when working from the same molds, each ring reflects the individual experience of the person creating it. This class is open to beginners, as well as those with some experience.
The tools are provided, and a graphite mold and silver are included in the tuition.
