This Concentration offers twelve weeks of sustained, one-on-one instruction and independent studio time in jewelry, metalsmithing, and/or enameling. It can be shaped around each student’s experience and goals, from strengthening specific technical skills to developing a focused body of work.
Weekly four-hour teaching sessions and four-hour open studio sessions provide eight hours of studio time per week throughout the twelve-week Concentration.
The schedule can accommodate daytime, evening, and weekend sessions.
Instruction includes technical demonstrations, feedback on in-progress work, technical troubleshooting, design and material discussions, and next steps.
This Concentration can support:
learning or strengthening specific technical skills
completing a personal project with ongoing guidance
exploring new materials, processes, or ideas
developing a focused body of work
preparing a portfolio for school or professional opportunities
pursuing independent or post-baccalaureate research
A $150 materials allowance is included in the tuition. Additional materials may be purchased as needed.
