Riveting is a method of joining materials mechanically without heat. Similar to creating a nailhead, a rivet passes through two or more layers of material and is compressed to create a permanent connection. Rivets can be used to join metal to metal or metal to non-metal materials.

In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of cold connection while creating a functional copper hair clip. Students will texture, cut, drill, and form a decorative piece of copper before attaching a barrette mechanism with rivets. All levels are welcome.
