The University of Connecticut Checklist for Cultivars of Salix (2015) notes they found “no published reference” for an Oka cultivar, so they don’t recognize it as an established name. But they do point to the 2015 Vermont Willow Nursery online catalog, which describes Oka as a “very old French basketry selection…cultivated on the grounds of Oka Abbey, Quebec, Canada, for a long time.”
